Sweet Cornbread Recipe

As I’ve mentioned before, one of my family’s favorite meals on a cold winter’s night is beans-n-ham-n-cornbread.  This cornbread is not as sweet and cakey as, say, Marie Callender’s, but we think it’s just right.

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups flour 2/3 cup sugar
1/2 cup yellow corn meal 1 Tbsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt 1 1/4 cups milk
2 eggs, lightly beaten 1/3 cup vegetable oil
3 Tbsp butter, melted

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350F.  Grease a 9″ square baking pan.

Combine all dry ingredients in a bowl.

sweet cornbread recipeCombine milk, eggs, oil and melted butter in a small container (I used a 2 cup measure); mix well.

sweet cornbread recipeFold liquid mixture into flour mixture; stir just until blended.  Pour into the pre-greased baking pan.

    I think I am missing the measures for the ingredients???
    This is probably some kinda test and I just flunked but I was
    looking because I add honey and swirl it around after all ingredients are in the pan.

      I’ll send you the recipe. Your browser won’t see it when I put it in a table, for some reason. I love the idea of swirling the honey. I’ll have to try that another time!!
