Simple Ways to Pamper Yourself Daily

As I’ve talked about in my two recent articles, (What the Heck is Self-Care, Why is Self-Care Important?),  taking care of yourself is important for good physical and mental health.  But besides the daily and weekly tasks we need to do for ourselves, let’s not forget to also pamper ourselves.

According to the New Oxford American Dictionary, to pamper means to:

Indulge with every attention, comfort, and kindness; spoil.

Finding the time to take a long soak in a bubble bath or get a relaxing massage can be difficult.

Here are some ways to squeeze pampering in, a little bit every day.

Give yourself a facial massage.
This only takes a few minutes, and you won’t believe how relaxed you will feel afterwards.
First, start with a clean face and neck. If you don’t already own a facial oil, you can start with something as simple as coconut oil, especially if you have dry skin. Or you can find a decent facial oil for around $10 online.
Put a small amount of the oil on your fingertips and starting at your forehead, make small circles up and outward, moving slowly down the sides of your face and neck.  Don’t press too hard, this is supposed to be relaxing, not painful.

Use lavender spray on your sheets and/or pillow. It’s easy to make your own lavender spray with a few drops of essential oil and about an ounce of either vodka or witch hazel. If you don’t have a spray bottle, then you can just sprinkle a little bit with your fingers. Either way, the lavender scent should help you to relax as you prepare to go to sleep.

(I used to use a homemade spray, but now I put a few drops of essential oil in my bedside diffuser and let it run while I am getting ready for bed.)

teapot and teacup

Brew yourself a cup of tea.
I’m not talking about popping a pod in your pod machine.  I mean, heating up the water and pouring it over either a tea bag or loose tea leaves. Then wait patiently for 5-10 minutes for the tea to steep. Take the time to relax.  Inhale some deep breaths to capture every nuance of the amazing smell.
Once the tea is ready, sip it slowly, savoring every hot, comforting sip.

Slip into the softest pajamas, or if you sleep in the buff, then the softest sheets.

These pjs have been rated some of the softest on Amazon, and look how cute!
If you opt for the sheets, look for 100% cotton, with at least a 300 thread count. Non-cotton sheets don’t breathe as well, which can contribute to overheating.

No time for a bath? Treat yourself to a shower with Dr. Jacobs Naturals.

I was sent the Almond Honey liquid soap, Charcoal liquid soap, and Minty Mojito bar soap for review. My favorite is the Almond Honey liquid soap. It smells just like sweet almond oil. The ingredients are so safe and moisturizing, I even washed my hair with it!! Afterwards. my hair was so soft and easier to comb through than usual.

Bud’s favorite is the Minty Mojito bar soap, although I think he made his choice based solely on which was his favorite scent.  The Charcoal liquid soap smells like lavender and citrus, which is an interesting combination. The best part of this soap is that the activated charcoal detoxifies, as well as cleansing your skin.  In my opinion, it also has a very mild abrasive quality.

I received free product in exchange for a thoughtful review.  All opinions are 100% my own.
