Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.
One of my favorite movies, growing up, was Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory(not to be confused with the Johnny Depp version). When my kids were little, I interested them to the joys of Charlie Bucket, Everlasting Gobstoppers, Fizzy Lifting Drinks and all the rest of Willie Wonka’s delicious creations.
I was so excited when Nestlé® asked me to review a couple of their seasonal products, including Wonka® Gobstopper® Candy Canes and the Wonka® Frosty Nerds® Theater Box.
Wonka Gobstopper Candy Canes come in 3 different colors, each with the changing fruity flavors and flavor rings we associate with Everlasting Gobstoppers. They come 12 candy canes to a pack and retail for about $2.49. Bud and his girlfriend loved the different flavors so much that I almost didn’t get to try any for myself. Thank goodness I did, though because they are delicious!! Also, they were fun to use for decorating our Christmas tree.
Frosty Nerds are red, white and green candies that come in a variety of tangy and sweet, crunchy fruit flavors. They come in a five ounce theater box and retail for about $.99. We all loved these candies, although we could only eat a very few alone because I needed to save them for the recipe.
We found our recipe at Nestlé’s Simply Celebrate website. We made the Nerds Crispy Rice Cereal Treats recipe, because it was super easy.
3 tablespoons butter
10 ounces mini marshmallows
6 cups crispy rice cereal
5 ounce box WONKA® Frosty NERDS®
1. Melt butter and marshmallows in a large sauce pan. Stir frequently. Once completely melted, remove from heat.
2. Add cereal. Stir until cereal is evenly coated.
3. Add Wonka® Frosty Nerds® and stir thoroughly.
4. Spray hands with cooking spray and gently press mixture into a greased (cooking spray) 13X9 pan. Let cool.
5. Cut into 2 inch squares.
I would definitely recommend the Wonka® products make a great addition to my holiday entertaining. They are a fun and inexpensive way to brighten up the holidays!!
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
