Lately Art and I have been struggling with finding the direction God wants us to go. Are we supposed to move to Oregon so Art can pursue his dream career? Are we meant to stay where we are and struggle? Is there some path we haven’t even thought of yet? What if we make the wrong choice?
Listening to KLOVE the other day, this song came on the radio:
I was reminded that as long as we are actively seeking guidance, God will steer us in the right direction. He is not a punishing God that will make us suffer forever for choosing the wrong path. Instead, we learn from our mistakes, and we are able to move on and make better choices at the next fork in the road. Read the words of the chorus:
You are more than the choices that you’ve made,
you are more than the sum of your past mistakes,
you are more than the problems you create.
You’ve been remade.
We don’t have to be afraid of making the wrong decision. Instead, we can feel emboldened to make the right decision.
So I try to remember the promise of 2 Corinthians 5:17-21:
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
Recently, we found out we have very exciting news on the horizon. I promise to share the details later this week, but I hope you will all be praying/thinking good thoughts for us!!
Are you at a fork in the road of your life? What is holding you back from making a decision? Is there something/someone you would like me to pray for? Please leave a comment below.
