My mother-in-law has never been much into social media. She reads her email and follows my blog, but she never got into Facebook or the like. For that reason, she often misses out on the photos I post of goings-on in our family.
The last time we visited, she mentioned she would like for me to teach her how to use Pinterest. I think she would really enjoy it, but how much more would she enjoy Instagram? She could follow friends and family and have all of our photos in one convenient spot!!
I was thrilled when the people at Konnect Labs asked me to review the #Cube.
About the #Cube
#Cube™ speaks to the enormous popularity of photo-sharing sites such as Instagram by enabling the socially connected to enlarge their viewing experience of photos and videos, from the smaller confines of a smart device. It is an extremely innovative, attractive, & easy-to-use wireless living photo canvas which showcases your favorite social photo & video streams.
Among the immensely appealing features of #Cube™ are:
- A large 8” square LCD touch screen display, giving the retro-inspired #Cube™ a modern touch.
- Real-time and instant continuous delivery of a stream of photos and video clips, enabling users to enjoy and display real-time social network images from friends, family, and favorite celebrities.
- Rechargeability and built-in Wi-Fi as well as free wireless software updates that enable new features & application support.
I found the #Cube very easy to set up and use. It comes with a power cord but once it is charged, can also be run wirelessly, so you can put it anywhere you like.
Once it was plugged in, all we had to do was set up the Wifi and enter my Instagram account. Right away I could view my feed. There is even a heart button on top you can push to like a photo!! You can switch between a feed of all the people you are following, a feed of the most popular Instagram posts of the moment, or you can see the feed of one specific person or hashtag.
#Cube has a rear speaker and can even play Instagram videos. I liked that you can swipe a photo sideways to view more information about it. You can also pinch the screen so instead of scrolling, you get a 4×4 grid of photos you can choose from.
One suggestion I really liked was to create your own hashtag for sharing specific things with friends and family. Like #traveljunkies or #foodapalooza (or something like that). We are planning on setting up the #Cube for Art’s mom so she can follow along with our Instagram feeds and enjoy our photos like the rest of the family. Maybe we’ll set her up with a hashtag like #MorrisFamily. What do you think?
#Cube is available in either Classic, Black or White and retails for $149.99.
I received a #Cube for no charge for the purpose of review through Tomoson.com. All opinions are 100% my own.
