I’ve had asthma most of my life (see Living With a Chronic Cough). Living in an old house with lots of dust, two dogs and occasional smokers (not me), air quality is often a concern. In April, I entered a contest run by Oransi. In order to enter the contest, you had to pin a photo on Pinterest of something that symbolized Earth Day to you. I was very surprised when I found out I won!! And the prize was the Oransi Max HEPA Air Purifier (you can see my winning entry here).
Isn’t it so cute? It looks even better at night:
About the Filter:
This air purifier has THREE filters!! The pre-filter captures the largest particles. The High-Efficiency v-HEPA filter removes up to 99% of airborne pollutant particles, including impurities as small as 0.3 microns. The activated carbon filter is specifically designed for trapping chemicals, gasses, odors and smoke.
Another feature is the negative ions. Negative ions are found to be effective against dust, bacteria, etc. The intelligent air quality monitor on the front of the unit shows the air quality in the room and adjusts the fan speed depending on the air quality reading.
The Oransi Max HEPA Air Purifier retails for $479. You can check it out on the Oransi website.
I love this air purifier!! I run it every evening after I open up the house to cool off. We run it so often that the air quality in our bedroom stays in the good range all the time now. And on those occasions when someone smokes, I can put the purifier in the room they were in and it clears the room pretty quickly.
The filters in the unit are good for up to one year and a replacement pack of filters runs about $90.
Even though this air purifier is pretty pricey, it is by far the best air purifier I have ever used. If you can afford it, it is well worth the price.
I won this product as part of a contest. I was not required to write a review, however I really enjoyed the product and wanted to share it with my readers.
