Under the Sea Cupcake Candy Buffet

cupcake candy buffet

Lately, Bud has been begging me to make some cupcakes.  I thought, how fun would it be to have a cupcake candy buffet? That way everyone can decorate their cupcakes just how they want.  And since it’s been so hot around here, an under the sea theme is the perfect diversion!!

Celebration by Frey sent us the perfect products to use for candy buffets, which are a very on trend DIY project. Celebration by Frey products are available in many different colors and formats including gumballs, Sixlets, Pearls and Candy Crumble. They also have achieved a beautiful “shimmer” finish on their products that sets them apart from the competition. Using Celebration by Frey products is the perfect way to enhance any party or any candy buffet!

Materials:

Frosting

Underwater themed tablecloth

Celebration by Frey candies

Glassware of varying sizes

White butcher paper

Colored markers or crayons

Pictures of sea life cut out of magazines or printed from the Internet

Glue stick

Directions:

Confession time: I just got back from a week long vacation so the first thing I had to do was clean off the dining room table (you know what I mean).  Then I changed out our usual tablecloth (a Mexican blanket) for a cute tablecloth with fish and flowers.

Next I whipped up a batch of devil’s food cupcakes from a mix (don’t judge).  While the cupcakes were baking, I started gathering all the glassware.  Different sizes are nice, not just because you probably have differing amounts of each type of decoration, but also because varying sizes make for a more attractive display.  Mixing large gumballs with little pearls and tall champagne glasses with smaller old fashioned glasses helps to draw the eyes around the whole display.  I also love the variety of colors available in the Celebration by Frey decorations!!

After the cupcakes cooled, I laid them and the frosting on a shiny tray and scattered some more Celebration by Frey candy around the table and tray.
