AMI Clubwear Swimsuit Review #amiclubwear

AMI Clubwear reviewFall is fast approaching, but we still have a few hot days left before the cool autumn breezes start to blow.  The warm weather we’ve been having here in Northern California got me to thinking about getting a new swimsuit.  After all, I’m in better shape – a few more pounds down – why not show off my new and improved body?

I was thrilled when the people at AMI Clubwear sent me their PinAMI Clubwear swimsuit reviewk Bandeau Sexy High Waist Swimsuit for review.

AMI Clubwear is your one stop source for first-quality fashion products at unexpected prices.  They have shoes, swimwear, clothing, intimate apparel, costumes, and accessories.  AmiClubwear has a variety of sizes (including plus sizes) and everything they sell is SEXY!!  Plus their deals are amazing!!  Two piece swimsuits starting at $11.25? That’s a great deal in my book!

My swimsuit arrived less than a week after I ordered it.  It looked so cute that I couldn’t wait to try it on!!  The bottoms fit perfectly.  The high waist is reminiscent of the swimsuit styles of the 1940s and 50s.  It has the perfect amount of rear end coverage (no ride-ups) and the high waist covers my stretch marks.

When I ordered the bandeau style top, I didn’t take into account my age or cup size.  There was just not enough coverage or lift to make this a good style choice for me.  I should have picked an underwire or halter style top.  That’s why I’m not modeling the swimsuit in the photo.

That being said, this is a quality product with consistent color, and even seams.  The fabric is thick enough so that nothing shows through, without making you feel like you’re wearing a wetsuit.

I have become a big fan of AMI Clubwear and can’t wait to try out one of their dresses or accessories!!

I received complimentary product from AMI Clubwear in exchange for a thoughtful review.  All opinions are 100% my own.

Easy Falafel Recipe

easy falafel recipeI am a huge chickpea fan.  Whether it’s in hummus, a salad or stew, I just can’t get enough of those protein packed little beauties.

I’ve been trying to make an easy falafel recipe for the blog for a few months.  I really wanted something authentic, and everything I read said that in the Middle East, they don’t use egg.  So my first falafel attempt was just the mashed seasoned chickpeas and a little flour.

The result was not too pretty:

For my second attempt, I used a mix. That turned out really well, but I really wanted to make my own, you know?

Finally after some tinkering, I came up with a recipe that’s easy.  It DOES use an egg, but the result is worth it, in my opinion.

Easy Falafels

Ingredients:

1 can chickpeas (garbanzo beans) drained and mashed

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon cumin

1 egg

2 Tbsp. flour

2 Tbsp. olive oil

Directions:

Mash chickpeas well (I used a potato masher).  You want them to be pastey, but with a few small chunks.

Mix in spices, egg and flour.  You may need a little extra flour so the dough won’t be too sticky.

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.

I used a cookie scoop to measure the fritters (about 1/8 cup each).  Drop them in the hot oil and flatten them a bit.

Cook falafel for 3 min. on each side, until golden brown.

Serve warm or cold with tzatziki sauce (or ranch dressing works well in a pinch 😉
