When Art was recalled to active duty, both in 2001 and again in 2004, there were large chunks of time when I felt like a single mom. We had two young children. The Air Force base where Art was stationed was only about 40 minutes away, but he went on a lot of deployments. Honestly, even when he was home he was so tired that he really couldn’t be much help.
I think it was during that time that I sort of lost myself. My whole life was wrapped up in taking care of the house, kids and pets (not to mention church). I never took time for me. My physical, mental and spiritual well-being all suffered. I wish the Military Spouse Wellness Summit had been around back then.

I don’t know about you, but life around here has been SO STRESSFUL!! I apologize that there hasn’t been a blog post for TWO WEEKS!!! Unfortunately, life got in the way. Nothing I can talk about on the blog, but life is definitely improving. I just need a vacation, or at least a way to relax and decompress. You know what I mean?
I was thrilled when the people at AmeriGiftBaskets sent me their Fields of Lavender Spa Gift Basket to review. I mean what could be better than lavender for relaxation?
Check out the unboxing:
The Fields of Lavender Spa gift basket was so much fun to open!! Here’s what was inside:
White slat basket
Tazo Passion tea
Lavender shower gel
Soothing lavender body lotion
Luxurious lavender bath bar
Lavender bath soak
Lacey’s toffee cookies
Bud and I loved the Tazo passion tea. There were a few chamomile packets included in the basket also. Chamomile is also very relaxing, and a great tea for right before bed time.
I kept the lavender shower gel, body lotion, and bath bar for myself. The lotion is smooth and creamy with just enough lavender scent without being overpowering. I have been using all three products daily for about two weeks. I feel so pampered and spoiled after every shower!!
The basket itself was so beautiful that I re-gifted it to my mom, along with the lavender bath soak and the Lacey’s cookies. She thought it was a great surprise gift!
I highly recommend the Fields of Lavender Spa Gift Basket for anyone who needs a little pampering. It would be a great gift for your mom, wife, sister, caregiver or even to spoil yourself!!
