Patriotic Candy Flower Vase Display with a Giveaway #SweetworksPatriotic #ad

patriotic candy flower vase displayI LOVE decorating for the holidays!!  We have about 20 boxes of Christmas decorations, 2 or 3 boxes of Halloween, one box of Thanksgiving a box of Easter, and even a few Valentine’s and St. Patrick’s Day decorations.  The only holiday where we’re really lacking is 4th of July.  We’ve never had much in the way of patriotic decorations.

I was thrilled when Sweetworks sent me an assortment of their patriotic candies!! I decided I would make a patriotic centerpiece that would be both pretty to look at and fun to eat!!

This display is super easy to make. All you need is a wide-mouth flower vase, some pipecleaners, two clear drinking straws and your favorite Sweetworks candy!! I used the Celebration shimmer color gumballs in red, blue and white and red and blue eight packs of Sixlets.

First, layer the red, white and blue gumballs in the flower vase, up to the rim.  Not only are they pretty, but they will also help to anchor the Sixlet “flowers” in place.

For each flower you will need one pipe cleaner for the stem and a half a pipe cleaner for the petals.

First, wrap one end of the full-length pipe cleaner around the middle of a tube of Sixlets.

Next, wrap each end of the half pipe cleaner around the middle of a pack of Sixlets.

Finally, center the half pipe cleaner on the wrapped pack of Sixlets with the full-length pipe cleaner. Wrap each half around the center of the pack.

Arrange the petals so they look like a flower or sparkler.  Arrange the stems in the vase of gumballs.  I made four this way – they will be a little droopy – that’s okay!!  Make two more and thread the end of each stem into a clear drinking straw.  The straw will give the flower the support to stick up in the middle of the vase.
