As many of you may know, a few years ago I lost over 30 pounds, thanks in large part to Sparkpeople.com and the friends I met there. And while I still haven’t met my goal weight, I have kept a stable weight for the past two and a half years.
Heading into the new year, I decided not to make resolutions as I have in the past. Instead, I decided to commit to one small change. For me, that change is having 5 small meals a day. I’ve found if I eat a small meal every three to four hours, not only does it cut down on my heartburn, but I also am having less hunger between meals.
This year Sparkpeople has teamed up with Gorton’s for The Realistic Resolution Challenge. I joined the challenge last week. Each day I get a healthy tip in my email. In addition, there is a sample eating plan with easy, healthy recipes.
As part of the Realistic Resolution Challenge, I am also trying to incorporate more fish into my diet. Gorton’s has some delicious grilled options as well as their Simple Bake products that really meet my needs. My favorite is the Signature Grilled Tilapia. The taste is delicious and each fillet is only 80 calories, with 13 grams of protein. Plus, they have only 140 mg of sodium per serving, which is perfect for my low sodium needs.
I received complimentary product from Gorton’s in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are 100% my own.
Do you have some realistic resolutions for the new year? Could you use some help in making your resolutions a reality?
