Now that I’m older, with the accompanying older skin, I need all the help I can get. I can use all the cleansers, toners, scrubs, serums and moisturizers at my disposal, but if I have dead skin or rough patches, my skin will still look older.
I had my first facial for my 47th birthday (thanks Mom!!). My friend Lynnelle was the esthetician and she used a sonic brush on my face. I had never used one before. I couldn’t believe how soft the skin on my face felt afterward. I really wanted a sonic brush of my own.
I was thrilled when the people at Michael Todd asked me to review the Soniclear Antimicrobial Sonic Skin Cleansing System.
About the Product:
Cleaner skin begins with a cleaner brush™. SONICLEAR is the first ever sonic skin cleansing brush with built in antimicrobial protection against stain and odor causing bacteria. Sonic cleansing can create a breeding ground for microbial contamination when skin cells, makeup and moisture residue combine with bacteria that cling to the brush bristles between cleansings. Traditional rotary and sonic skin cleansing systems don’t offer protection against bacteria, so the team at Michael Todd set out to find a solution. After extensive research and testing, we found a way to incorporate safe, effective and durable antimicrobial technology into the brush heads at the time of manufacture. The result is SONICLEAR, a revolutionary sonic cleansing brush that thoroughly cleanses the skin and then protects itself against microbial contamination leaving the brushes cleaner, fresher for longer.
- Antimicrobial protection built right into the brush heads
- Sonic-wave powered cleansing
- 2 brush heads – one for facial and one for body cleansing

I was a little bit nervous about how hard it would be to figure out the Soniclear. I am not the most mechanically inclined person. I found it was no harder than my electric toothbrush to use.
The device knows the difference between the face brush head and the body brush head and adjusts the speeds accordingly. There are 3 speeds for each type of brush head.
I tried the face attachment first when I was getting ready for bed one night. I just wet the brush head, wet my face, applied my usual cleanser to the brush head and turned it on. It felt so good!!! The unit has a two-minute auto shut off timer that beeps every twenty seconds. I let it run for about a minute, then rinsed the brush head and splashed my skin, patted dry and applied a liberal amount of moisturizer.
I could not believe how soft and refreshed my face felt for a couple of days afterward. I was beyond happy with the results!!
A week later, I got up the nerve to take the unit and brush heads into the shower. I used the face attachment as before, but then I unclicked it and clicked on the body attachment -all while in the shower!! I used sugar scrub with the body attachment and it felt especially good on my elbows and heels. Aaahhh!!!
I am a HUGE fan of the Soniclear!! I think it is going to be a much-used tool in my anti-aging arsenal for many years to come.
