Meatballs in Phyllo Appetizers Recipe

Since I made my Easy Berry Phyllo Tarts a couple of weeks ago, I have had a lot of extra phyllo dough in the refrigerator.  What to do? What to do?

Art and I decided we would come up with some kind of phyllo-related appetizer to bring to our friends’ monthly wine party.  Since we already had some frozen meatballs, we decided to try meatballs in phyllo.

The recipe was super easy to make and a big hit at the party besides!!!  Try them and tell me what you think.  We served ours with a barbecue sauce dipping sauce, but sweet and sour sauce would work really well also.

 Meatballs in Phyllo Appetizers

Ingredients:

1 bag of frozen meatballs (we used Trader Joe’s mini meatballs)

1 box of refrigerated phyllo dough

Directions:

Cook meatballs in oven according to directions on package.

Allow to cool slightly.

Lay 4 sheets of phyllo at a time, stacked, on a cutting board.  Cut into 3 inch squares.

Place one meatball in the center of each square.

Fold phyllo corners up, then twist the top.

Place appetizers on a greased cookie sheet.  Make sure they are not touching each other.

Bake for 15 minutes at 350F or until golden brown.

PRO Compression Marathon Sock Review #keepittight

Since I was diagnosed with venous insufficiency, I have been stuck wearing not-so-pretty, thick knee-high nylons.  They have 15-20 mmHg compression, which helps keep my feet and ankles from swelling.

swollen anklesThey are pretty comfortable, but also pretty ugly and VERY hot!!  I have been on the lookout for something lighter and/or more attractive.

I was very excited when the folks at PRO Compression asked me to review their marathon socks.

About the Product:

PRO Compression Marathon Socks ReviewMarathon runners use compression socks because they help improve blood flow, resulting in better, more consistent performance with less fatigue and faster, more efficient recovery. In addition to improving vascular performance, Marathon compression socks provide support to critical muscles and tendons, helping reduce inflammation and soreness.

PRO Compression Marathon socks feature:

  • Full-length, graduated compression design for maximum blood flow
  • Non-slip design, even after hours on your feet
  • Lightweight construction for incredible feel
  • Blended materials provide maximum comfort and support
  • Moisture control keeps you dry during your biggest efforts
  • Made in USA

My Review:

I was a little unsure of how these socks would work for me because they are a slightly stronger compression (22-26 mmHg) than my usual stockings.  But they are so gosh darn cute!! Plus, I figured if marathon runners can wear them for an entire race, I should be able to handle them for a day of work.

The PRO Compression Marathon socks are my new favorite compression stockings!!  They are SO comfortable and lightweight!!  Plus they have built-in moisture control so my feet don’t feel as hot as they do in my regular nylons.  Also, they are machine washable, which is a huge bonus for me, because my traditional stockings have to be hand-washed.

Not to mention, they are so stinking cute!!

PRO Compression Marathon Socks ReviewI highly recommend the PRO Compression Marathon socks for runners as well as those who need that extra compression for other reasons (like me!!)  They are super comfortable and come in so many colorful styles!! (Mine are Michelle Jones Limited Edition).

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
