One of the perks of being a military wife (currently retired) is shopping at the commissary. Our closest commissary is about thirty miles away, so we only go about once a month, but when we do we try to bring a cooler and stock up on what we can. The prices on many items are so much less than civilian grocery stores and many manufacturers offer special discounts just for commissary customers as well. It really helps to stretch our tight dollar by saving money on groceries at the commissary.
One of the problems with traditional commissary coupons is that you have to pick them up at the store. Often they are in a little dispenser on the shelf in front of the product and by the time we get there, the coupons are all gone.
But now, thanks to General Mills Military Region Coupons and Offers, we can print our coupons at home before we go to the commissary. All I had to do was text the keyword GMSAVE to 82857 to opt-in*. I was then asked to text my email address. That’s all it took to receive:
- Exclusive military only General Mills coupons sent monthly right to my email for easy printing before we go to the commissary.
- Current products on sale at my local commissary
- Information about new General Mills products
- News about upcoming General Mills commissary events
At this time, commissaries do not yet accept electronic coupons, but by opting in by text, you agree to be contacted in the future via text. This way, once electronic coupons are accepted at the commissary, you will immediately start receiving texts about them. (No more than 4 a month).
Starting this month, if you sign up, you will get two email blasts a month, One of these email blasts will have coupons you can print at home using Coupons.com technology and take to the commissary
