Sweet Cornbread Recipe

As I’ve mentioned before, one of my family’s favorite meals on a cold winter’s night is beans-n-ham-n-cornbread.  I’ve shared my recipe for Crockpot Beans and Ham, but I’ve never shared my sweet cornbread recipe before.  Well, here it is.  It’s not as sweet and cakey as, say, Marie Callender’s, but we think it’s just right.

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups flour2/3 cup sugar
1/2 cup yellow corn meal1 Tbsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt1 1/4 cups milk
2 eggs, lightly beaten1/3 cup vegetable oil
3 Tbsp butter, melted

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350F.  Grease a 9″ square baking pan.

Combine all dry ingredients in a bowl.

  1. Hi T
I think I am missing the measures for the ingredients???
This is probably some kinda test and I just flunked but I was
looking because I add honey and swirl it around after all ingredients are in the pan.
    🙂

    1. Hi Auntie D –
I’ll send you the recipe. Your browser won’t see it when I put it in a table, for some reason. I love the idea of swirling the honey. I’ll have to try that another time!!
