About the Book:

From Amazon.com:

If you’ve ever dreamed of being a writer but don’t know how to get started, this book is for you.

The Hungry Freelancer: How to Break Into (and Succeed In) the World of Freelance Writing walks you through, step-by-step, the process of becoming a freelance writer. You don’t need a college degree or years of experience to succeed as a writer, and this book shows you how.

My Review:

In The Hungry Freelancer, Beth Jones offers many helpful tips.  From how to improve your writing, to how to get started and where to look for work, to tips on researching an article online and how to deal with writer’s block, this book covers it all.

One of the best points I read in the book was about keeping a positive attitude and being proud of your labors.

“When it comes to writing, your work will speak for itself, as it should.”

Another great quote comes from the section on being disciplined when working for yourself:

“Unfortunately, working from home, while possible, will require sacrifices.”

This book is a little short, but I found all the information inside to be very helpful and it even gave me some ideas I hadn’t seen elsewhere.  Whether you are new to freelancing, or just stuck in a rut, this book can help you take the next step.

My rating: I give The Hungry Freelancer four pencils!!!  A helpful resource!!
